Amy and I decided that we wanted a new challenge. Instead of going up we wanted to go down. Now the one thing that is stated pretty explicitly is do not attempt to go from the Rim to the River and back to the Rim in one day. Especially in the summer time where at the Colorado River the temperatures can exceed 110 degrees. However, this was our objective. I would still strongly suggest not to do this on a whim. We trained hard and specifically to be able to complete this objective and planned every detail of every mile to ensure our safety. In any case, we were successful and actually finished the objective 3-hours ahead of schedule. Check out the pics.
